And one of the most important parts of the team our are vehicle mechanics, who ensure that our HGV refuse trucks, and street cleansing vehicles can keep our community clean, green and safe for all residents and businesses.
A position has become available for an HGV Mechanic within the workshop department at our Maidenhead Contract. Working in a friendly and professional team, you will provide essential maintenance within this commercial vehicle workshop environment.
At Serco, we are dedicated to the ongoing development and progression of our mechanic teams, with outstanding training along opportunities to undertake additional qualifications, including OEM training, HGV Driver training and Irtec accreditation.
About you
First and foremost, you’ll need to be an experienced and fully qualified mechanic - preferably with HGV mechanic experience, or be willing to undertake additional training to upskill.
To be successful in the role, we require that candidates have electrical and hydraulic fault-finding experience, the ability to carry out general chassis service work, and where possible, full industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair).
You should have good written and verbal communication skills, be able to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, and general welding skills would be advantageous.
