Job Description
New Directions Education are currently recruiting confident and adaptable Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across Cardiff.
This role involves working alongside teaching staff to support pupils aged 11–16, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You may work across a range of subjects or provide additional support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils in lessons across a range of subjects
Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis where required
Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
Support pupils with ALN, behaviour, or engagement needs
Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Provide support during form time, break duties, or interventions
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
Confidence supporting students in a secondary school setting
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A calm, resilient, and proactive approach
A genuine interest in supporting young people’s education and wellbeing
