* Lead a productive and motivated team
* Flexible roster with opportunity for weekend work
* State‑of‑the‑art, modern facility

Scone Equine Hospital has a large team of specialist veterinarians, interns, nurses, and barn crew working together to provide 24‑hour care for critically ill neonates, adults, and operative and post‑operative patients. Approximately 2000 patients are seen annually, including a high caseload of neonatal and adult medicine and surgical cases.

The Role

This rewarding, hands‑on role involves leading a small team during the busy breeding season, with rostered shifts scaling down during quieter periods to reflect workload demands. Working closely with the Medicine Coordinator, you will support recruitment, rostering and timesheet management, while spending the majority of your day on the floor leading and supporting the barn crew. Responsibilities include overseeing and participating in the daily cleaning of hospital stables and facilities, maintaining equipment, cleaning and biosecurity schedules and waste management including coordinating off‑site waste disposal. You will ensure the cleanliness and organisation of barns, sheds and grounds. You play a key role in training new barn crew members at the start of the season and throughout the year, supervising workflow, time management and adherence to hospital protocols. The role requires close collaboration with nurses and veterinarians to ensure the smooth running of the hospital. Additional duties include identifying and arranging basic facilities and equipment maintenance or repairs, restocking feed and hay supplies, assisting with rental properties and ensuring the hospital operates efficiently in a fast‑paced but well‑supported environment with high‑quality facilities and equipment.
