About Pearson VUE

Pearson VUE delivers more than 15 million certification and licensure exams annually across a wide range of industries, operating a network of nearly 20,000 Test Centres in 180 countries.


Job Overview

This is a limited term (6 months) contract, with the possibility of extension, for a minimum of 8.25 hours per week. The test centre opens Mon/Tues/Wed 7:30‑16:15, Thurs 07:30‑19:15, Sat 7:30‑12:15, and Alternate Sat 7:30‑16:15. Shift patterns include lunch cover, split shifts, and occasional long hours as required.

The role requires a candidate who can work varied shifts Monday‑Saturday and who is located within a short travelling distance of Seven Dials, Hove. The pay rate is £13.60 per hour, paid at the end of each month.


Responsibilities

* Welcome, greet and check‑in customers/test‑taking candidates.
* Comply with exam testing security and procedures and follow company policies using careful judgment.
* Verify customer/candidate personal identification documents and explain the exam testing process and rules.
* Proctor and invigilate candidates while they complete their exam/test.
* Troubleshoot with internal departments such as IT to resolve technical issues in the Test Centre.
* Perform housekeeping duties such as vacuuming floors and sanitising keyboards/workstations as necessary.


Qualifications & Experience

* Admin or customer‑facing experience in a busy, multi‑tasking environment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* School qualifications in English and Maths; an advantage if Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is familiar.
* Communication skills that support a friendly, professional service to candidates.
* Ability to sit for long periods and escort candidates to and from exam rooms.
* Reliability, flexibility and a team‑player attitude to meet varied shift requirements.
