Fire Alarm Project Manager - Home based & office based at Purfleet site with national coverage.
Are you passionate about fire safety and protection? Our client specialises in the delivery of planned and corrective maintenance for fire detection systems and portable extinguishers. While operational resources are primarily based around London, Our client proudly offers national coverage through a reactive delivery model.
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Fire Alarm Project Manager to oversee the delivery of fire detection and alarm system projects, ensuring full compliance with BS 5839-1:2017 and BS 5839-6:2020. This role requires strong technical acumen, excellent project management skills, and the ability to coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams from pre-installation through to completion.
1. Manage fire alarm system projects from inception to handover, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
2. Ensure all system designs, installations, and commissioning work complies with BS 5839-1:2017 (non-domestic premises) and BS 5839-6:2020 (domestic premises) & BAFE SP203
3. Conduct thorough reviews of proposed fire alarm systems to verify compliance, functionality, and suitability for the intended environment.
4. Undertake detailed site surveys to assess installation conditions, constraints, and client-specific requirements.
5. Attend site meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to coordinate project requirements and resolve technical issues.
6. Provide clear and accurate monthly progress reports to the Operations Manager, highlighting key milestones, issues, and resolutions.
7. Ensure all necessary documentation including drawings, compliance certificates, and O&M manuals are completed and maintained.

15. Proven experience in fire alarm system project management, preferably with a fire or life safety systems contractor.
16. Strong understanding of BS 5839-1:2017 and BS 5839-6:2020, with demonstrable application in previous projects.
17. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, design teams, and installation crews.
18. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
19. Familiarity with CAD drawings, system schematics, and technical specifications.
20. Relevant industry qualifications or certifications (e.g., FIA, LPCB, or equivalent).
21. Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Desirable:
22. Experience with other fire safety standards and integrated building systems.
23. Project management certification
24. Experience with risk assessments and fire strategy reports.
