About the Role
We are seeking a professional and motivated Legal Secretary who has hands-on experience working in a legal office. Applicants must have recent experience specifically in criminal law. Experience in other legal disciplines such as plaintiff litigation and family law would be advantageous, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners
Typing, filing, and maintaining case files (both paper and digital)
Managing diaries and keeping track of critical dates and deadlines
Answering phones and covering reception when required
Preparing and completing legal documents and forms (including LAMS for legal aid cases)
Photocopying, collating, and scanning documentation
Essential Criteria
Proven experience as a Legal Secretary within criminal law (applications without this experience will not be considered)
Strong audio typing and administrative skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload efficiently
Professional and team-oriented approach
Experience in other areas such as plaintiff litigation, family law, and legal aid (LAMS) is desirable
