Cluster Residential Child Care Worker – Pebbles Care

Pebbles Care has an exciting opportunity to collaborate with an established team and become an integral part of our children’s lives. Your role may vary across a small cluster of homes with varied shift patterns to support holiday or training cover. The cluster role offers development opportunities and exposure to diverse teams.
Responsibilities
* Support daily home life, including driving children to and from school, appointments, and visits (a full UK manual driving licence is essential).
* Teach valuable life skills such as meal preparation and household chores.
* Engage in activities, outings, and holidays that foster learning and personal growth.
* Work part-time as a dedicated team member, averaging 45 hours weekly, across multiple locations within a cluster of homes.
* Provide support on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis, tailored to the young person’s needs.
* Participate in a comprehensive induction and shadow shifts to learn the Pebbles Way and our therapeutic care model.
What We Offer
* Salary: £34,719.00 to £36,248.00 per annum, pro rata for part-time roles, depending on experience.
* Rota: Full-time pattern is one 24-hour shift (including sleepover) followed by two days off; average 45 hours per week, with rota changes announced in advance.
* Annual leave: 5.6 weeks per year (pro-rata for part-time contracts).

Essential Qualities

* Full UK driver’s licence (manual vehicles in all homes).
* Patience, good listening, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
* Proficient IT skills and experience with Microsoft packages.
Desirable Qualities
* Up to 12 months of experience with children or young adults (more than 12 months may qualify for higher salaries).
* Progress toward SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Residential Care (funding may be available).
* Familiarity with Codes of Practice by regulatory bodies.
* PVG/DBS certificate.
