MERITUS Talent are working with one of Europes leading defence systems manufacturers for the recruitment of an RF Systems Engineer to join their Stevenage office on a 12 Month contract basis. The role requires someone to be onsite 5 days a week, and is paying up to £80 per hour via umbrella. An active SC will be required prior to starting the role.
This department is responsible for the systems design of the Data Link that maintains communication with missile products throughout their mission. The team now requires an RF Systems Engineer to support work on the Sea Venom programme. The customers product is a helicopter-launched weapon system and installed on the helicopter for the UK.
The data link provides a secure two-way RF link to up to four weapons systems in flight, enabling:
* Image downlinks
* Aim point refinement
* Abort commands
* Target location updates
The system includes:
* A missile terminal and antenna
* A platform (helicopter) terminal with an active antenna, enabling 360° azimuth beam pointing capability
The data link is currently in production and being delivered to the UK customer, with manufacture continuing through 2026. Export opportunities are under evaluation, with RFQs expected in 2025/2026.
Responsibilities:
* Act as focal point for all data link work.
* Resolve manufacturing issues relating to the data link.
* Support integration teams with data link queries.
* Contribute to new business activities, including studies, modelling, and bid preparation.
* Manage design configuration for the data link (problem reports, change notes).
* Ensure alignment with obsolescence redesigns for transverse products.
* Manage defined work packages for data links.
* Provide support to the wider CAMM family data link systems team, as workload allows.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Strong background in RF systems engineering.
* Proven stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in weapon system integration and certification.
* An understanding of manufacturing processes.
