Job Overview
Audit Manager – North Wales. Duties: support Deputy Head of Internal Audit to conduct complex audit reviews, manage planning, delivery, reporting, ensure quality, build relationships, improve governance. Based at Bryn Y Neuadd Hospital, Llanfairfechan or Alder House, St Asaph, with agile working arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Plan, conduct, and report on audit reviews for NHS Wales health boards and authorities.
* Manage audit teams and delivery of audit plans.
* Ensure high quality of audit services and provide actionable recommendations.
* Maintain effective working relationships with senior management.
* Support the development of people, technology, and service impact.
Qualifications & Knowledge
* CCAB qualified accountant or MIIA qualified auditor, or equivalent.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Highly specialist knowledge of Global Internal Audit Standards, Risk Management and Assurance Frameworks, Corporate Governance, Controls Assurance, Control Frameworks, Stewardship & Probity, Healthcare Standards.
Desirable Knowledge
* Knowledge of healthcare.
* Knowledge of NHS finance.
* Welsh language skills desirable (levels 1 to 5).
Experience
* Extensive experience in internal audit, public sector audit or NHS.
* Audit management and staff supervision experience.
* Experience auditing across a range of clients.
* Staff training and complex audit report production.
* Advanced specialised knowledge in internal audit and risk management.
* Track record of delivering challenging objectives and managing complex situations.
* Experience presenting sensitive findings to management resistant to change.
Desirable Experience
* High level experience of auditing Healthcare Standards.
* In depth specialist knowledge of NHS legislation and policies.
* Experience presenting reports at Audit Committee.
