Your Role and Responsibilities
* Lead specialist neuropsychiatry care for patients with acquired brain injury across hospital sites
* Act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act for detained patients
* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and contribute to enhancing our rehabilitation model
* Provide expert psychiatric advice and participate in service improvement initiatives
* Deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric treatment, leading weekly clinical meetings and case management
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals to safeguard patient care
* Participate in on-call rota to maintain continuous service delivery
* Support and mentor junior psychiatry staff, ensuring compliance with Section 12 of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) Approval
About You
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification, full GMC registration with a licence to practise
* MRCPsych qualified with Approved Clinician status and Section 12 approval
* Strong clinical skills informed by a bio-psycho-social approach and sound medical knowledge
* Proven experience in clinical audit, quality improvement, and collaborative leadership
* In-depth understanding of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act responsibilities
* Excellent decision-making ability, prioritising evidence-based practice and patient-centred care
