Supply Desk is delighted to partner with a welcoming primary school in Borehamwood, known for its inclusive ethos and supportive learning environment. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis starting April 2026.
Role Overview
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of pupils. Your role will be key in helping children build confidence, develop essential skills, and reach their full academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to pupils’ learning needs
* Assist with classroom organisation and promote positive behaviour
* Adapt learning materials and activities to support different abilities
* Support teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting
* Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning
* Confident in managing classroom routines and behaviour
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Knowledge of inclusive education and safeguarding practices
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
