Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a full-time, permanent basis.
As a Store Manager you will manage the day-to-day running of our Kirkby Stephen Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits, and support Barnardo's mission to fund services for children, young people, parents and carers across the UK.

14 Market Street, Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria
Working pattern
The store is open 7 days a week. The successful post holder will be required to work on a rota basis, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
Parking
Parking is available behind the shop and there is also a free car park nearby.
Responsibilities
* Ensure stock is generated over the counter by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
* Maintain a high standard of customer service as expected by Barnardo's.
* Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or the Area Business Manager.
* Maintain high standards of presentation in the windows and interior of the Store.
* Ensure adequate stock on the shop floor, on all key lines.
* Provide training, development, reviews and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform effectively.
* Create an organized and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
* Actively recruit the correct number of volunteers to deliver the store's objectives and KPIs.
* Adhere to all financial, cash handling and security procedures per Barnardo's Manager's Manual and relevant Retail procedures.
* Hold the shop keys and ensure the shop is secure when unattended.
Ideal candidates must haves
* Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
* Experience to manage people.
* Ability to liaise with a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
* Ability to meet customer needs on a face-to-face basis to generate sales and increase shop usage.
* Ability to perform basic arithmetic to maintain budgets and complete weekly income/banking sheets.
* Ability to handle cash and reconcile accurately.
* Proven experience of meeting targets and KPIs.
* Basic IT skills.
