Position Overview

Location

The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.


Responsibilities

* Assist in preparing requisitions and documentation such as drawings, bill of materials, and system records, ensuring alignment with design specifications and standards.
* Help draft technical specifications and RFQs to support proposals and project execution.
* Review vendor quotations and support the evaluation process based on performance, pricing, and guarantees.
* Identify basic purchasing needs for materials and services under guidance.
* Support the selection and application of quality assurance programs for procured items.
* Review customer specifications and design documents with supervision.
* Collaborate with design teams and clients to address design-related questions and updates.
* Participate in constructability reviews and help resolve design issues with engineering teams.
* Organize and maintain documentation to support work package preparation and design compliance.
* Communicate technical and quality requirements to teams preparing construction drawings and procedures.
* Contribute to proposal development for engineering services and equipment.
* Work closely with senior staff to learn and support project coordination activities.
* Collaborate with trades supervision and quality specialists to help complete the CITP (Construction Inspection and Test Plan).
* Assist in preparing commissioning and pre-operational test plans.
* Participate in final walkdowns and help document punch list items for construction close-out.
* Support the creation of technical drawings and schematics with internal and external teams.
* Help address non-conformance reports (NCRs) and site requirements for permanent works.
* Assist in managing design interface procedures and document control.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support project and team needs.


Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a related field
* 0–5 years of experience in engineering or project coordination
* Interest in pursuing a P.Eng designation
* Familiarity with construction drawings, materials, and basic engineering principles
* Some experience with tools like AutoCAD, SAP, or scheduling software is a plus
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Willingness to work in both office and field environments
