Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Merseyside (WA10)
Salary: Up to £60K (DOE) + Allowances
Shifts: Mon - Fri 08:00 - 16:00hrs
Contract: Permanent
Our client is a leading global Industrial Gases and Engineering company, delivering high quality, gas processing solutions for a variety of industries, including healthcare, chemical, manufacturing and food & beverage.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to work out of their main Merseyside site, with regular visits to local satellite sites. You will be responsible for supervising contract personnel and actively support the sites SHEQ goals and targets.

As the E & I Engineer your duties will be;
6. Prepare, issue, monitor and control Permits to Work, incorporating contractors risk assessments.
7. Ensure all E&I activities within hazardous areas comply with ATEX/DSEAR and COMPEX standards.
8. Implement and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for isolation and maintenance of E&I equipment.
9. Manage and maintain HV electrical systems, ensuring all HV operations comply with site electrical safety rules.
10. Prepare plant for maintenance and inspection as required, by executing physical and electrical isolations.
11. Inspect and check all operating plant and machinery on a regular basis.
12. Diagnose faults on plant and machinery, provide feedback and raise work orders for rectification.
13. Participate in the sites on-call rota system.
The successful E & I Engineer will have the following skills;
14. Qualified/Time Served within an Electrical/Instrumentation discipline.
15. Must have knowledge/experience working within a Chemical or Processing industry.
16. Must have detailed knowledge of Permit To Work procedures.
17. Must have some SHEQ knowledge/experience. IOSH/NEBOSH certification would be ideal.
18. Full UK driving licence.
19. Ability to work alone/on own initiative.
