Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy
2. Healthcare Professionals Council registration.
Desirable criteria
3. Relevant postgraduate training
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
4. Experience in in-patient physical service setting both acute and rehab. Experience in acute community/outpatient setting e.g. experience gained through Band 5 rotations in Medicine, orthopaedic/surgery, Medicine for Older Persons
5. Experience of supervising junior members of team and/or students in day-to-day working.
6. Knowledge/ability to use a range of different assessments and interventions with patients with cardiac, respiratory, surgical, neuro and orthopaedic conditions
Desirable criteria
7. Knowledge and application of service improvement
8. Attended student practice educators course
9. Any other relevant courses
Skills, Abilities, Attributes
Essential criteria
10. Evidence of clinical application of core physical and mental health Occupational Therapy skills
11. Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
12. Good communication skills, both verbal and written
13. Evidence of CPD and self-directed learning.
14. Participation in audits, research and clinical governance
15. IT skills use of email/office products.
16. Understanding of local and national guidelines and implications for Occupational Therapy and client care.
