We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our small, dedicated team at GP Vets in Basingstoke. You will work alongside three experienced vets, an experienced nursing team and a support team of receptionists. We welcome applicants with a medical or surgical bias and encourage ongoing CPD. Your caseload will mainly consist of small animals but you may see exotics if interested.
Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality veterinary care to patients, perform surgeries, make diagnoses, give client advice and oversee emergency cases. Support the practice’s accreditation and maintain clinical standards.

* Registered veterinary surgeon (UK register)

Flexible rota patterns to suit you
Work/life balance is a priority; we offer flexible working arrangements, including reduced working days and flexible hours. The full‑time role is 40 hours with a Saturday morning rota and no OOH; part‑time applicants are also welcomed.
Our established practice
We are ISFM accredited and currently a Silver‑rated cat‑friendly small animal practice. Located near the M3/M4, the practice is within 45 minutes of Heathrow, 1 hour to the South coast, and 40 minutes to London. The surrounding area features historic treasures, family attractions, and the North Wessex Downs AONB.
State‑of‑the‑art equipment
The practice has separate cat and dog kennels, 2 consult rooms and an operations theatre. We are equipped with Digital X‑ray, Idexx ProCyteOne, Catalyst, a brand new Ultrasound machine and dental radiography.
