Production Planner
Overview A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a Production Planner to join their operations team. This role is central to coordinating production schedules, ensuring workflow runs smoothly, and supporting on-time delivery performance. The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and a background in planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Create, maintain, and update production schedules in line with customer demand and operational capacity.
Coordinate with procurement and stores teams to ensure timely material availability.
Monitor work-in-progress, labour, and machine capacity, making adjustments to prevent delays.
Communicate priorities and changes clearly to production supervisors and other stakeholders.
Highlight risks, shortages, or potential bottlenecks early and proactively resolve issues.
Generate regular reports and KPIs on schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and stock levels.
Support continuous improvement projects aimed at improving efficiency, lead times, and resource planning.
Skills & Experience Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials planning within manufacturing.
Strong IT skills, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
Resilient under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods is an advantage.
