We are looking for a Systems and Datacenter Operator to join our team for a multinational leader in the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Systems monitoring and management.
* Observing monitoring consoles and event-driven alerts.
* Coordinating with vendors for technical support.
* Calling on expert on-call staff to resolve incidents.
* Taking first-line corrective action on administrative systems.
* Running and monitoring traditional batch schedules using tools such as Control-M or Visualcron.
* Executing weekend release scripts for production deployments.
* Physical management of bulk printing.
* Supporting datacentre operations (e.g. power-down weekends, system availability testing, patrols).
* Maintaining security procedures and access logs.
* Updating operations procedures and generating reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
* Analysing and resolving production problems and incidents.
Skills:
Essential:
* Proven background in IT operations.
* Ability to work independently and within small teams.
* Self-motivated and solution-oriented mindset.
* Focus on service quality and operational excellence.
* Experience with job scheduling tools (Control-M, Visualcron).
* Good understanding of Linux/UNIX commands and basic Oracle database knowledge.
* Understanding of ITIL fundamentals.
* Strong English level (B2 or above).
Desirable:
* Experience in batch processing and job scheduling.
* Knowledge of JCL and Korn shell scripting.
* Experience with Microfocus environments.
