Regional Operations Director
Location: Flexible within the North region (with regular travel)
Salary: Competitive

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
What you’ll do:
As Regional Operations Director, you’ll lead the Northern region of our Grounds and Winter Maintenance team at Ground Control. Allowing them to deliver exceptional, high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services for our clients. You’ll shape and inspire a high-performing team, drive sustainable growth, and ensure operations are aligned with Ground Control’s values and strategic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on client relationships, team engagement, and regional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of 10–15 direct reports and circa 50–100 colleagues, supported by field teams and subcontractors.
2. Own and manage the regional P&L, ensuring EBITDA targets are achieved through revenue growth, cost control, and margin protection.
3. Drive operational excellence by improving service delivery, quality, and safety standards.
4. Build and maintain strong client relationships, reducing complaints and improving client satisfaction (NPS).
5. Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities, including tenders and contract growth.
6. Develop, coach, and manage your team, building a culture of inclusivity, engagement, and high performance.
7. Champion sustainability, environmental, and social value initiatives across the region.
8. Collaborate with central support functions (Finance, People, HSQE, etc.) to ensure compliant and effective operations.
9. Deputise for the National Operations Director when required.
What we’re looking for:
10. Proven track record in senior operational leadership, ideally in grounds maintenance, facilities management, or a similar service-led sector.
11. Strong financial management experience, including P&L accountability and budget control.
12. Expertise in driving operational efficiency, service quality, and health & safety compliance.
13. Excellent people leadership skills, with experience coaching and managing large, diverse teams.
14. Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills at a senior level.
15. Strategic thinker with the ability to align operations with broader business goals.
16. Resilient, adaptable, and entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to deliver sustainable growth.
17. Skilled communicator who leads by example, fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and engagement.
18. Full driving licence with the desire to travel regionally as part of your role
