We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join a SEN school in Newport.
About The Role
This rewarding position is based in a SEN school in Newport, working with pupils aged 7-16 with additional needs such as autism and ADHD. You will support small class sizes, build meaningful connections, and provide individualised support to students who need it most.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
* Encourage independence and provide personal care support when required.
* Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
* Build strong relationships with students, parents, carers, and staff.
* Assist in lesson preparation and delivery, including therapeutic activities.
* Support pupils with severe learning difficulties to ensure a positive school experience.
Who We're Looking For
* A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential). Experience or willingness to learn teaching strategies for students with complex needs.
* A kind, patient, and caring nature, with a passion for supporting pupils.
* The ability to stay calm under pressure and manage challenging situations.
* A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
