Highly Specialist Pharmacist W&C Directorate

This brand new post is created due to service expansion and is an opportunity to join an already exciting and dynamic women and children’s team.
The role will provide a highly specialist clinical pharmacy service within the Women & Children Directorate, ensuring high quality, safe, effective, legal and accurate use of medicines within the speciality. The Senior Pharmacist will maintain a regular clinical commitment to both women and paediatric wards (prescribing and neonatal experience desirable) and will provide information support for division and specialist pharmacists and deputise for the Lead Directorate Pharmacist when required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide and manage pharmaceutical services to the Women & Children Directorate in accordance with the needs of the Division. The post holder will work with senior clinicians to determine medicines related cost pressures, monitor and review prescribing practice within the Directorate, and work with clinicians to ensure effective, safe, evidence-based and cost-effective prescribing.

Person Specification
Essential and desirable
* Vocational master’s degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent) + completion of pre-registration training
* Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain
* Significant specialist experience in delivering Paediatric (or neonatal) services at an advanced level of practice
* Significant specialist experience in delivering maternity services at an advanced level of practice
* Experience of delivering education and training at a postgraduate level
* Supervision of others
* Registered independent Pharmacist prescriber
* Clinical Audit to improve practice
* Staff management
* TPN
* Education and Training in a multidisciplinary environment
