This position will ideally be based in Paris, Madrid, or London, but other locations with a presence may be considered. We operate a hybrid schedule, allowing two remote workdays per week.
Role Purpose:
Reporting to the International Head of Energy & Construction, you will be responsible for driving the expansion and strategy of our Construction proposition across Everest International Insurance (EII), focusing on underwriting profit and delivery.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Lead the strategic direction and profitable growth of the EII Construction Portfolio, developing underwriting guidelines and collaborating on strategies to identify regional growth opportunities.
2. Assist in integrating Everest Insurance International and North American Construction portfolios.
3. Work with the Head of Risk Engineering to develop risk assessment criteria.
4. Collaborate with Actuarial teams to develop pricing tools and monitor portfolio performance.
5. Build and maintain relationships with key brokers and clients.
6. Coordinate with Claims, Loss Control, and Accounting departments.
7. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement new procedures.
8. Work alongside the Head of Energy and Construction and Ceded Re regarding the E&C Reinsurance Treaty.
Skills & Abilities:
* Senior global underwriting experience, particularly in industrial and civil infrastructure construction projects internationally.
* Technical knowledge in EAR and CAR.
* Understanding of construction classes such as Project Cargo, Liability, Project PI, and Surety.
* Proven ability to operate within complex, matrixed organizations and build relationships with stakeholders.
* Experience navigating change and fostering high performance.
* Risk-taking and negotiation skills.
* Strategic thinking and trend analysis capabilities.
* Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
* Compliance expertise with internal and external regulations.
