Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cheltenham Bournside School as a Graduate Programme Teaching Assistant. We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work within our Special Educational Needs Department, supporting the effective operation of the SEND provision on a day-to-day basis in school. Graduates in Maths, English, or Science would be desirable, although other subject specialists would also be considered. Teaching Assistants play a vital role in our SEND support and provision as part of the SEND Team, led by the SENDCO and the SEND Lead Practitioner. Support involves 1:1 interventions, small group work, and main classroom support.
This opportunity is specifically aimed at recent graduates considering a career in teaching. We are founder members of the Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership (GITEP), rated by OFSTED as “Outstanding”. If appointed, we will provide tailored support to assist with your application to GITEP and your career development. The graduate programme includes in-house training, observational visits to other schools, coaching, and additional CPD activities depending on your specialism. While starting with us does not obligate you to train as a teacher, the appointment is a fixed-term contract offering the opportunity to decide whether to pursue teaching as a career.
Safeguarding Statement:

We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups, including those based on ethnicity, gender, transgender status, age, disability, sexual orientation, or religion.
