BAM FM is recruiting a Catering Assistant to work at Thurlbear Primary School in Taunton, Somerset.
Available Shift Pattern:
• 10 hours a week, Monday-Friday
• 11.45am - 1.45pm
• Term Time only.
Pay: £11.44 per Hour, Overtime available
Your responsibilities
* Prepare meals according to recipes and methods.
* Prepare ingredients for meals under direction.
* Follow HACCP and food safety regulations.
* Keep clean and dirty processes separate.
* Prepare food for chilled or hot transportation.
* Decant and serve food as required.
* Maintain food safety records using management systems.
* Refill and replace consumables.
* Ensure orderly and secure storage of supplies.
* Provide courteous customer service.
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues.
* Maintain accurate stock levels.
* Assist in achieving financial targets.
* Manage waste through correct measurement.
* Complete in-house training and attend courses to update knowledge.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures.
* Participate in team meetings.
* Follow instructions from management and head office.
Candidate requirements
* Experience in cooking/food preparation for large groups.
* Willingness to gain recognized catering qualification.
* Level 2 Hygiene Certificate (desirable).
* Knowledge of health and safety in kitchens.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills.
* Good ICT skills (desirable).
* Ability to operate relevant equipment.
* Understanding of COSHH regulations.
* Good communication skills.
* Knowledge of hygiene procedures.
* Willingness to participate in training and development.
