Sandwell Children's Safeguarding Partnership (SCSP) are recruiting for a Senior Business Support Officer to join the Safeguarding Business Team and help play a key role in achieving positive outcomes for young people.
About the team:
The aim of the SCSP Business Unit is to support our safeguarding partners in ensuring that children and young people in Sandwell are supported by providing the right help at the right time, protecting them from harm and ensuring more children can grow up safely, with the right love and support around them.
As a member of the Business Unit, you will be part of a small team working alongside the Business Manager and will work regularly with a wider group of professionals from across the partnership spectrum, including the Local Authority, Sandwell Children’s Trust, Health providers, Police and schools. All will share the common goal of making our child Multi agency Safeguarding arrangements (MASA) as efficient and effective as possible.
What will your role be?
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient and effective clerical and administrative support to the SCSP Business manager and its Priority Sub-groups, Executive and Operations group as required, including minute-taking of nominated partnership meetings.
Your work will be on behalf of the Partnership and Business Manager with a broad range of individual and organisational contacts involved with safeguarding from across the public, private, voluntary, faith and independent sectors. This will also include contact with Elected Members, Chief Executive/officers and Heads of Service. Your role is pivotal part of the Statutory functions of the Partnership in line with the requirements of the Children and Social Work Act 2017 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023.
The post holder will focus on maintaining all processes to support the work of the partnership, in support of scrutineering activities, produce and disseminate information promoting the safeguarding partnership and its work within partner agencies, the wider professional community and to the public.
Your role will also include maintaining the partnership’s procedures website, raising purchase and payment orders along with arranging the various activities associated with supporting the Business Manager with the smooth functioning of the many meetings as part of the MASA.
