Overall Job Purpose: We want to recruit a GIS Officer to join our Technology & Digital Service. You will work with colleagues across the whole organisation and be involved in application systems and projects to help deliver on our ICT and Digital Strategies. We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to help us administer, develop and deliver our GIS software and data. The successful candidate will use their GIS and spatial database expertise to deliver geospatial data and services to internal and external customers. We have a corporate cloud-hosted GIS solution that has recently been updated to the latest version. This is an opportunity to increase your GIS, database and technical expertise. Our main GIS is Cadcorp, and you will need knowledge and experience of Cadcorp SIS, GeognoSIS and WebMap. In addition, knowledge and experience of FME, QGIS and LLPG gazetteer management are also required. Data is hosted in MS SQL Server Spatial databases, so having SQL skills would be desirable. If you enjoy working with a diverse range of user departments, suppliers and data, and have broad GIS knowledge and skills, then this is the job for you.
