The role of Data Analytics & Data Science Lead is crucial in this strategy. The GPA manages over £2.1 billion in property assets and more than 55% of the government’s office estate.
The GPA aims to transform civil service operations by creating excellent workplaces, leading major office programs, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing value for taxpayers. They seek innovative, solutions-oriented professionals to work on initiatives like the Government Hubs, Whitehall Campus, and Net Zero Programmes, delivering modern, cost-effective real estate services.

Job Overview:
* The role combines Data Analytics and Data Science to support GPA’s planning and decision-making, covering Operations, Portfolio Performance, H&S, Risk Management, and Sustainability. It provides actionable insights for planning, scenario analysis, and predictive analytics.
* Existing data analytics tools include PowerBI dashboards supporting key business areas such as Occupancy, Portfolio Management, Customer Satisfaction, CRM, and Sustainability.
* The role involves developing data science capabilities to generate new insights and improve analytics processes.
* Work locations include Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Swindon, Nottingham, or Manchester, with a hybrid working model of 2 days in the office per week.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of GPA’s Data Strategy and reporting needs.
* Lead and manage a team of developers, ensuring high performance and alignment with business goals.
* Design, develop, test, and deploy dashboards and analytics solutions.
* Engage with stakeholders across GPA to gather requirements and develop new dashboards to support daily operations.
The Successful Applicant
Person Specification / Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in managing large data sets and creating Business Intelligence solutions.
* Proficiency with Power BI, Azure, Redshift, SQL, Power Platform, and DevOps.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience working in Agile environments.
* Management experience with software development teams.
* A relevant university degree in computer science, analytics, or related fields.
Desirable criteria:
* Experience with JIRA, data analysis methodologies, AI development.
* Certifications such as Microsoft Data Analytics (DA-100) or equivalent.
