Job Advert Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant Reporting To: Business Controller - Pallets Hours of Work: 40 hours per week Location: Head Office, Halbeath Salary: Market Rate About the Role As Assistant Management Accountant, you will work closely with experienced Finance Business Partners, supporting the delivery of financial reporting, analysis and insight, to aid decision-making and business performance. You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of financial activities. Key Responsibilities * Deliver on key tasks to support an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close including but not limited to accounts production and balance sheet reconciliations. * Assist the Finance Business Partners with the preparation of weekly and monthly management reports, providing accurate financial data and analysis to support performance tracking. * Support the translation of financial data into clear, meaningful information for non-financial stakeholders. * Prepare external reporting requirements such as VAT returns and Office of National Statistics returns for review by the Business Controller. * Assist with the development and improvement of system-based reporting, controls, and data processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. What We’re Looking For * Studying towards (or planning to study towards) a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA. * A good understanding of basic financial principles, including financial statements and KPIs. * Proactive and inquisitive mindset with strong attention to detail. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with both finance and non-finance colleagues. * Experience using Excel at an intermediate level (pivot tables, lookups etc) * Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics, Navision, SAP or similar ERP systems is desirable but not essential.
