THE ROLE
As the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day running of a busy operational site.
Leading a team across operations, logistics, and site activities, you'll drive performance, maintain high safety standards, and ensure operational targets are achieved while delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing operational teams across the site
- Managing daily operational performance and resource planning
- Driving health, safety, and compliance standards across all activities
- Monitoring site KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring operational processes are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively
- Managing budgets, expenditure, and operational reporting
- Supporting employee development, engagement, and performance management
- Maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers
- Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and service delivery
- Ensuring all site activities comply with industry regulations and company procedures
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Previous experience within an Operations Manager, Site Manager, Depot Manager, Logistics Manager, Distribution Manager, or similar leadership position
- Strong people management and team leadership skills
- Experience managing operations within logistics, distribution, manufacturing, industrial, engineering, utilities, or high-hazard environments
- Excellent understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational performance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
