Job Duties
Provide friendly, professional service to students, parents, faculty/staff, and visitors at all times.
Accurately process payments (cash, card, check, meal plans etc.)
Issue receipts, and/or checks in accordance with university policies.
Balance and reconcile cash drawer at the end of shift.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office area at all times.
Answer incoming calls promptly, return voicemails in a timely manner, and demonstrate professional phone etiquette.
Answer basic questions and direct customers to appropriate university services.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with accuracy and attention to detail.
2. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to a diverse population (faculty, students, staff and general public).
3. Ability to interpret policies and procedures and convey information to customers in a cordial and friendly manner.
4. Ability to analyze and problem-solve.
5. Ability to work independently, as well as to establish and maintain positive effective working relationships.
6. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and general public.
Additional Considerations
Strong communication and customer service skills, both in person and by phone
Ability to manage transactions accurately and responsibly.
Professional phone etiquette and ability to manage messages and call-backs effectively.
Attention to detail and organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Previous cashier and/or customer experience preferred but not required.
