GMP Recruitment is proud to partner with a highly successful manufacturing organization specializing in bespoke metalwork products, located in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their growing team.
This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position offering a salary up to £47K, depending on relevant experience.
Experience in a manufacturing, safety, facilities, or operations environment is essential, as is a NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
The Health and Safety Advisor (H&S Advisor) will be the primary contact for all health, safety, environmental, and quality matters across four sites in the Kidderminster area. You will support and advise staff at all levels and assist the Operations Manager in maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and employee welfare.
We seek an individual with a comprehensive understanding of company policies and health & safety regulations, current and upcoming UK health and safety laws, and a strong knowledge of ISO standards related to quality, health, safety, and environment.
Main duties of H&S Advisor:
1. Review, update, and embed the company’s health and safety policies and documentation.
2. Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations by implementing necessary updates.
3. Maintain environmental compliance and proactively address environmental impacts of operations.
4. Systematically inspect and audit company sites and departments.
5. Contribute to achieving annual company objectives and ISO accreditation.
6. Develop risk assessments and method statements.
7. Lead health & safety forums and internal reviews, implementing recommendations.
8. Conduct office fire and general risk assessments.
9. Audit paperwork for compliance with statutory requirements.
10. Achieve and retain third-party accreditations and audits.
11. Ensure proper induction of new starters regarding SHEQ responsibilities.
Skills and experience required:
* NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
* Understanding of company and health & safety policies
* Experience in manufacturing, safety, facilities, or operations environments
* Knowledge of current and future UK health and safety laws
* Familiarity with ISO, quality, health, safety, and environmental standards
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to present data effectively and coach colleagues
* Problem-solving skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
