Job Description:
We're looking for an experienced Technical Animator - Mid or Senior Level - to join a well-known, Midlands based, UK studio who are highly respected throughout the games industry.
As a Technical Animator, you’ll work on the studio’s upcoming action-adventure project and their highly successful flagship title, which has enjoyed sustained success with a growing player base and legions of fans worldwide.
This role is ideal for a problem solver with a creative technical mindset. You will join the studio’s Technical Animation team, working directly with Engineering, Art, AI, and Game teams to build animation systems for runtime.
You will use Unreal to create high standards of animation across a variety of unique and stylized characters and be involved in R&D into new and emerging animation technology.
***Please note, this is a full-time, 18-month contract position.***
* Collaborate with Designers and Engineers to understand and implement gameplay animation features.
* Support Engineers and game development teams in fixing game issues, troubleshooting animation graphs and artwork.
* Be mindful of performance issues and responsible for making performance improvements.
* Advise on and create tools to improve workflows and asset quality.
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...
* Proficient in creating Animation Blueprints inside Unreal using Blendspaces, State Machines, and Control Rig.
* A background in Technical Animation for games.
* Experience in runtime animation in-engine, setting up locomotion or actions for characters and creatures.
* Expertise in Unreal 5 and animation skills.
* Experience in developing location and character control systems.
* Completed a full game development cycle.
For this 18-month contract role, you should be...
* Based in the UK and hold the right to work in the UK.
* Able to complete the full 18-month PAYE contract.
