Overview
Maintenance Engineer required in Cheltenham. Salary: £46,000 per annum. Hours: Rotating Monday to Friday shifts with occasional weekends. Full-time, permanent contract. Immediate start available following a successful interview process.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide reactive breakdown support across the site.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
* Diagnose and repair faults on electrical and mechanical systems.
* Work on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, chain drives, pumps, and bearings.
* Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
* Support production teams to maintain output and efficiency.
* Maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping.
* Support continuous improvement and engineering projects as required.
Candidate Requirements
* Multi-skilled maintenance engineer (approx. 60/40 mechanical or electrical bias).
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fast‑paced engineering or production environment.
* Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding capability.
* Experience working with single‑phase and three‑phase electrical systems.
* Working knowledge of PLC‑controlled machinery.
* Basic knowledge of inverters and control systems.
* Pneumatics experience.
* Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic drawings.
* Relevant engineering and/or electrical qualifications.
* Good understanding of health & safety.
Desirable Experience
* Steam boilers.
* Steam and condensate systems.
* Heat exchangers.
* Soft water plants.
