Teacher of Computer Science – Watford, Hertfordshire

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Contract: Full-time | Permanent
Start Date: September 2026 (or earlier by negotiation)
Salary: MPS1 – MPS6 (Outer London Fringe)

KPI Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a high-performing and forward-thinking secondary school in Watford to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Computer Science.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and innovative Computer Science teacher—open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners—to join a school where digital literacy, problem-solving, and technological curiosity are at the heart of the curriculum.

The Role

As a Teacher of Computer Science, you will join a dynamic and well-resourced department, delivering engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Planning and delivering high-quality Computer Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum
* Teaching key topics such as programming, algorithms, data representation, and computer systems
* Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of all learners
* Monitoring and assessing student progress, implementing strategies to raise attainment
* Promoting high expectations of behaviour and academic achievement
* Contributing to departmental planning and wider school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

KPI Education are seeking a high-calibre individual who:

* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards achieving it (ECTs encouraged to apply)
* Has a degree in Computer Science or a related subject
* Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for computing and technology
* Is committed to delivering engaging and high-quality teaching
* Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Is reflective, driven, and eager to develop professionally
