My client is an International Bank who provides real estate finance. They are recruiting for an experienced Portfolio manager with property investment lending experience. They will also consider candidates who have worked in origination who want to 'lose' the origination target.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of Real Estate Finance (REF) facilities secured on a wide variety of real estate assets including Residential, PBSA, Retail, Hotel and Office.
* Active management of the relationships with the Borrowers with day-to-day activities including:
* Processing of Rollovers/Drawdowns and Payments.
* Preparation of Credit Applications and Annual Reviews.
* Ongoing management of facility covenant monitoring.
* The negotiation of renewals, restructures, defaults including preparation of credit applications.
* Ensuring all facilities are KYC compliant.
* Working closely with internal stakeholders including front office originators, credit risk, back office, finance, legal and compliance to ensure smooth management of the facilities.
* Effectively manage external stakeholders and third-party professionals including assets managers, lawyers, monitoring surveyors and valuers as required.
* Coordinate middle office functions supporting the wider Real Estate Finance (REF) business.
* To coordinate MI reporting and portfolio analysis with a focus on concentration risk, pricing and returns and exposures in the context of existing credit limits.
* Effective management of the Property Finance Arrears process focused on ensuring timely resolution and avoiding IFRS9 Staging transition.
What you will Bring:
* Minimum 5 years with a commercial or challenger bank in a similar management role.
* Excellent credit report writing skills and an understanding of risk analysis.
* Ability to handle complex negotiations with borrowers and asset managers and work under pressure managing multiple transactions and tasks at one time.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to internal and external parties.
* Understanding of the key terms in real estate finance transactions.
* Competence with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Demonstrate appropriate business and risk aware behaviours and comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements and Bank policies.
* Strong analytical skills.
Salary: up to £90k (depending on experience)
Location: London (3 days a week)
