Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Assistant (Iford and Kingston Church of England Primary School)
Hours of work: Teaching Assistant for 6.5 hours plus Lunchtime Assistant for 2 hours per week.
Working pattern: Part‑time, Term‑time, working 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave (which increases after 5 years continuous service). Salary is pro‑rata.

Skylark Federation is seeking a Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Assistant to join our welcoming and friendly village school at Kingston, Lewes. We have friendly and engaged families, happy children who are keen to do their best and a supportive working environment.
Hours of work are 08:30 am – 12:00 pm (Teaching Assistant) and 12:00 pm – 01:00 pm (Lunchtime Assistant) for two days a week.
Responsibilities
* Support the teacher in the classroom to deliver teaching.
* Work with children and assist with all learning activities.
* Work across the classroom, one‑to‑one with pupils, or with a small group, assisting children who may need a little extra help.
* Boost the confidence of pupils and empower children in a nurturing and supportive environment.
* Act as an extra set of eyes in the classroom, picking up on any changes in behaviour and ensuring every child has a safe and happy learning experience.
This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The school will ensure that no disqualified person is employed. Candidates must demonstrate they have not been disqualified (self‑declaration form). If a candidate is found to be disqualified, the offer is subject to a waiver from Ofsted.
All school‑based staff must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services. Staff are expected to promote safeguarding and uphold the school's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
