If you are passionate about caring for the elderly and want to build a long-term career in one of our award-winning homes, then look no further than Akari Care. Our aim is to create an environment where our residents are valued, respected, and offered the personalised care they deserve.
We now seek an Activities Coordinator who is enthusiastic about, and thrives on, making a real and positive difference in the lives of older people.
Working in collaboration with the Home Manager and the wider community teams, you will be responsible for helping and engaging residents to socialise within the home. This includes providing a variety of activities catering to all tastes, abilities, and cultures, while respecting everyone as an individual and promoting diversity and inclusion at all stages. You will plan and initiate ongoing and individual programmes, encouraging residents to maintain existing hobbies and try new activities. By supporting colleagues, relatives, and friends to participate in activities with residents, you will promote socialising and spending quality time together, enriching our residents' lives. Additionally, you will accompany residents to offsite activities where possible.
You will also assist with innovative fundraising initiatives and budgeting for entertainment, materials, and outings. Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking are encouraged to raise funds supporting residents' activities. You will help create a supportive, caring, and kind environment, undertaking all duties to ensure a secure and safe atmosphere where residents are valued, respected, and retain their dignity and individuality to lead fulfilling lives.
By demonstrating alignment with our values—personalised excellence, community spirit, and compassion—you will be supported in developing your knowledge, skills, and abilities to care for vulnerable adults with their individual needs.
