What we’re looking for… This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance technician to join our team in our in Cumbernauld. You will play a valuable role in the contribution to the effective and efficient site performance through the maintenance of the factory; warehouse sites, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, monitoring and recording site services, including gas, water, electricity and effluent. Your responsibilities will include Adhering to safe working practices. Provide building maintenance and repair services to a high standard. Either hands on, or by organising and controlling contractors to provide a service where necessary. Liaise with various departments across the Cumbernauld site and put plan of works together to maintain good building standards To assist the factory in carrying out plant inspections in accordance with the planned maintenance system. Remove, reclaim or discard materials in an environmentally friendly way. Work within agreed revenue expenditure for contractors and materials. Liaise with buildings inspectors and insurance assessors when necessary. Carry out all duties in accordance with safe working practices and factory hygiene standards. Produce detailed written reports when and where required i.e. Work schedules, inspections,costings etc Liaise with and ensure contractors are working to company rules on control of contractors. To ensure the site retains the Pollution Prevention; Control (PPC) permits within the legislative timetable. This requires our emissions, discharges, waste and other environmental impacts to be monitored and controlled on an on-going basis. What you’ll bring The successful candidate will have: Time served experience in building skills (plumbing, decorating, electrical etc) Experience within a multi-skilled environment. Working knowledge of maintenance systems and processes. Experience of contractor control and legislative requirements for Safe Systems of Work and Permits / Hot Permits to Work. The ability to learn quickly and efficiently. Be able to adapt and react to changing demands on skills. Able to work as part of a team and also independently without close supervision. Adopt a flexible approach to duties carrying out any task in which competency has been achieved doing out of hours work where and when required. Full driving license.
