Cover Supervisor – Portsmouth
Full Time | Ad-hoc Basis | Immediate Start | Mainstream Secondary
GSL Education are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to work within a mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth. This is a full-time role on an ad-hoc basis, with an immediate start available.
The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task with the work that has been set. This role is ideal for individuals who are considering a career in teaching, recent graduates, or those with experience working with young people in an educational setting.
Responsibilities
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons and supervise students across a range of subjects.
* Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
* Implement the school’s behaviour policies and encourage good conduct.
* Provide feedback to teachers about student engagement and progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will
* Be confident, resilient, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be adaptable and able to engage students of varying abilities.
* Ideally have previous experience working with young people (not essential, as training will be provided).
