Delivery / Project Manager - Housing Developments Plymouth (Interim / 6 Months+)
Overview
We are supporting a client in the Plymouth area in the appointment of an experienced Interim Delivery / Project Manager to oversee two large-scale housing development projects.
This is an initial 6-month contract (potential to extend), offering a day rate of circa £400-£450 (neg).
This role requires a hands-on delivery professional with a strong contractor background, capable of driving performance across complex sites while maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of two major projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
Key duties include:
* Overseeing delivery of two large projects in and around Plymouth, ensuring progress against programme milestones
* Managing contractors and ensuring high standards across groundworks, civils and build phases
* Acting as the key interface in client and stakeholder meetings, representing the project with confidence
* Monitoring and controlling project costs, risks and programme performance
* Managing contract obligations and ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed terms and frameworks
* Working closely with consultants, internal teams and delivery partners to maintain momentum across both schemes
* Maintaining clear reporting and governance, providing regular updates on status, risks and delivery
* Ensuring works are delivered in line with health & safety and quality standards
About You
We’re looking for a highly organised, delivery-focused professional with strong technical and commercial awareness:
* Strong contractor or main contractor background (essential)
* Experience delivering civils / groundworks packages within housing or infrastructure projects (preferential)
* Solid understanding of construction contracts and contract management (essential)
* Confident leading and contributing to client meetings and stakeholder discussions
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities
* Track record of delivering projects across time, cost and quality constraints
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to operate autonomously and drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment
