Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out service operations, including the inspection, maintenance, and repair of specialist fire and rescue vehicles. Your work will involve diagnosing and resolving engine faults, repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, conducting LOLER examinations, replacing components, and addressing bodywork damage. You will ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards, in line with customer expectations, relevant legislation, and company policies—with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and reliability. This is a hybrid role, combining work at our head office in Holmfirth with field service assignments across the UK, and occasional opportunities to support operations in Europe.
Required Skills
We’re looking for candidates with hands‑on experience working on vehicle systems, particularly in mechanical and electrical disciplines. Qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (or equivalent) are highly beneficial. Additional experience with specialist systems—including access platforms (LOLER), cranes, hydraulics, and similar equipment—would be an advantage. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate flexibility, confidence, enthusiasm, and a strong ability to use your initiative in a fast‑paced, service‑focused environment.
