Based within the Radiology department at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, our service performs a comprehensive range of ultrasound investigations using state‑of‑the‑art equipment. Applicants must be a Registered Health Professional with a postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and evidence of relevant experience. Responsibilities
* Be responsible for scanning patients and producing independent reports in line with departmental guidelines.
* Take an active role in teaching and practical training of student sonographers and others in training.
* Participate in the audit and clinical governance programmes with the department.
* Communicate with patients, relatives, and others about the purpose and results of examinations in line with departmental guidelines.
* Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others, identifying training needs to the Lead Sonographer.
* Plan and prioritise own workload and that of the area to ensure efficient workflow, keeping waiting times to a minimum while maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
Qualifications
Registered health professional with a postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and evidence of relevant experience. Ability to work flexible hours. Knowledge of Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
