Overview
Independent Living Support Worker – Level 1 – Norfolk County Council. Wymondham, Norfolk. Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week. Salary £26,403–£28,142 per annum plus weekend/bank holiday enhancements and sleep in payments. Grade E.
Responsibilities
* Support young people in developing positive and effective independent living skills.
* Contribute to making plans to support them and assist with their implementation, attending statutory reviews as required.
* Act as a positive role model and form effective relationships with young people and their families to ensure emotional and physical needs are met and opportunities for development are maximised.
* Communicate clearly with young people and draw on previous experience of support work.
* Plan and prioritise workload with strong organisational skills and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
* Work evenings and weekends, participate in bank holidays and sleep-in duties as required; lone working during weekends and evenings.
* Opportunity to progress through funded training, including the Level 3 Children's Workforce Diploma.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in support work and ability to engage with young people.
* Clear communication skills and good organisational abilities.
* Willingness to learn and commitment to safeguarding and positive outcomes for young people.
* Opportunity to undertake Level 3 Children's Workforce Diploma (fully funded).
