Role Description
Progress your engineering career in a key role within Allianz Engineering Inspection Services. Our Engineer Surveyors are integral to our business.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified electrician with a background in installation and/or fixed wire inspection and testing to join Allianz Engineering, part of one of the world's largest insurers and financial services companies.
As a newly recruited Engineer Surveyor, you will be enrolled in our comprehensive induction training program to support your development.
Your responsibilities will include carrying out Periodic Inspection & Test and completing the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) for various industrial and commercial installations, including offices, factories, quarries, and hotels. Testing Lightning Protection Systems and Electric Vehicle Chargers are also part of this role.
You will work closely with your team, led by a Senior Operations Team Leader, preparing examination reports using electronic reporting for efficient client delivery.
This role involves hands-on inspections of plant and equipment and may require physical activity such as working at height, in confined spaces, lifting, and climbing, often in challenging conditions. Exposure to noise and dust may occur, so comfort with a hands-on environment is essential.
About You
* Knowledge of BS7671:2018 amendment 2
* Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
* Ability to make informed decisions and take responsibility
* Effective planning skills for meetings, visits, and work allocation
* Ability to travel within your designated area
* Competent in documentation processing and general administration
* Willing to support and deputise for colleagues when needed
Skills & Experience
* Passionate about engineering, self-driven, with strong client interaction skills
* Experience with low voltage electrical installations
* Minimum of 5 years' direct experience
* Experience in fixed wire testing is preferred
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Professional engineer registration is desirable but not essential
* Valid UK driving license
* Strong time management skills for independent work organization
* Comfortable using tablets and smartphones as part of daily work
Qualifications
* Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering
* BS7671:2018 Amendment 2 (18th Edition)
* City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
