DES Renewable Energy Ltd designs, installs and supports high-quality renewable energy systems across the residential and commercial sectors. As our installed portfolio continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our technical support function with an experienced and customer-focused Technical Support Operative.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical renewable energy experience who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
The Role
You will become part of our technical support team, acting as a key point of contact for customers requiring operational support and technical guidance on installed Solar PV and battery storage systems.
You will work closely with customers, manufacturers and our field engineering teams to remotely diagnose issues, coordinate remedial works where required and ensure support cases are managed through to successful resolution.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support and advice to customers following installation
* Carry out remote fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of Solar PV and battery storage systems
* Interpret system performance data and identify potential faults or operational issues
* Liaise with manufacturers and technical departments to assist with issue resolution
* Coordinate engineer attendance and remedial works where necessary
* Manage support cases through to completion whilst maintaining clear communication
* Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and technical findings
* Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes and customer experience
About You
We are interested in hearing from individuals who have experience within the renewable energy sector and understand how Solar PV and battery storage systems operate in real-world applications.
You may currently work as:
* A Solar PV installer
* An Electrical Installer or Electrician with renewable experience
* A Technical Support Engineer
* A Renewable Energy Service Engineer
* An Operations or Aftercare professional within the sector
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Previous experience working within Solar PV and/or battery storage
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
* Good understanding of electrical principles and renewable energy systems
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple support cases effectively
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a team
Working Arrangement
* Office based in Ferndown, Dorset (preferred)
* Hybrid or remote working may be considered for the right candidate
* Full-time preferred, although part-time applications will be considered
* Standard office hours
