Role: Senior Buyer Location: Knutsford, Parkgate Industrial Estate (Office based with occassional travel) Technical Requirement: Mechanical Engineering background (essential) Oliver Twinsafe Valves Limited is looking for a commercially sharp, technically minded Senior Buyer to take the lead on our international procurement operations and drive down costs. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior role within our supply chain department. What You’ll Be Doing As a Senior Buyer, you will work strategically to support the development of our supply chain and drive down costs. Your role will involve: Owning the strategy to develop our supply chain in China and building “boots-on-the-ground” style relationships to ensure quality and resilience Sourcing and purchasing exotic materials and high-performance alloys (e.g.: Inconel) Working with Machine shops as our business model is to sub-contract our components and then assemble Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure supplier capability Taking full responsibility for the “buy” – from initial sourcing and price negotiation to final delivery Expediting to manage lead times, troubleshoot bottlenecks and ensure we meet operational deadlines Who We’re Looking For We are looking for a Senior Buyer with deep global procurement experience who is a strategic thinker and a hands-on “doer”. They’ll enjoy the thrill of the deal and be a strong negotiator, driving down costs without compromising on quality. The Senior Buyer will also have a background in Mechanical Engineering and experience working with machine shops. What’s On Offer?
