Role Overview
Southern Housing is seeking an experienced Solicitor – Litigation to join the Legal Services team on a temporary basis. This role sits within the Operations > Legal Services > Litigation structure and will provide essential cover during a period of long-term sickness absence.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing litigation matters, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks, and supporting the organisation’s objectives with high-quality legal advice and representation.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and progress a caseload of litigation matters, ensuring timely and effective resolution
* Provide expert legal advice and support to internal stakeholders across the organisation
* Draft, review, and prepare legal documents and correspondence
* Represent the organisation in legal proceedings, hearings, and negotiations as required
* Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in all legal matters
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes and risk management strategies
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor with proven experience in litigation
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, and legal procedures
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
* Ability to manage a varied caseload under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise stakeholders at all levels
* Commitment to professional standards, confidentiality, and ethical practice
Assignment Details
Start Date: 01 December 2025
End Date: 05 January 2026 (5 weeks)
Hours: 35 per week
Contract Type: Temporary (Inside IR35)
Pay Rates
* PAYE: £45.00 per hour
* Umbrella/Ltd: £57.97 per hour
