The Role
The Building Services Engineer, part of the Estates Delivery discipline within UK Defence Operations, will focus on electrical specialisation but will deliver both electrical and mechanical aspects of building services, including preventive maintenance, repair and reactive tasks. Day to day you will provide maintenance support (installations, planned, preventive and corrective maintenance) for site services, plant/equipment and buildings.
Your Responsibilities
* Provide estate and equipment maintenance support across the two sites, mainly focussed on electrical elements but also across other areas
* Prioritise the work programme to satisfy business needs
* Form part of the on call rota within the Maintenance Team
* Ensure robust application of health, safety and environmental procedures and processes
* Maintain required standards and quality of work delivered
* Oversight of contractors on site – monitoring implementation and performance of tasks, including SLA dependencies
Essential Experience
* Proven experience as a Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer
* Proficient in fault finding and diagnostic abilities on components
* Experience with planned maintenance to SFG20 standards
* Demonstrable skills in working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex issues
* Full understanding of operational health & safety and safe working practices
* Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), service targets, objectives and KPIs
Essential Qualifications
* C&G, BTEC level 3, ONC/OND or NVQ level 3 within an electrical discipline
* Full & clean UK valid driving licence

This role is 37 hours per week based at the Kyle of Lochalsh and Applecross sites.
Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
BUTEC
BUTEC (British Underwater Test & Evaluation Centre) is a specialised facility focused on underwater testing and evaluation. It supports the development and assessment of maritime systems including submarines and autonomous underwater vehicles. Working towards the advancement of underwater technology including innovations in sonar, navigation and communication systems.
