Theatre Sister/Charge Nurse - Adult Theatres, Royal London Hospital
Our Theatre team is seeking an experienced Theatre Sister/Charge Nurse to rotate across our Adult Theatres service at the Royal London Hospital, one of London's largest Trauma centres.
The Royal London Hospital has 26 Theatres, offering elective and emergency care across various specialties, including poly-trauma, complex joint operations, and major trauma managed by the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). Our well-established team of multidisciplinary practitioners is committed to delivering excellent standards of care.
We require theatre nurses with proven experience in a busy theatre environment. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to professional development and ideally have mentorship experience to support junior staff development.

Main Duties
Our department offers exciting secondment opportunities, including participation in the Physician Response Unit, which involves integrating nurses into the pre-hospital MDT response team. We encourage 'nurse champions' to lead in areas of interest and support quality improvement projects.
Applicants should have relevant Emergency Department experience, emergency care qualifications, and a dedication to patient care and staff development. A desire to foster change and growth within our energetic team is essential.

Job Responsibilities
The post holder will oversee the operational management of the department, including budget awareness, clinical governance, staff development, and training. They will provide professional and inspirational leadership to the multidisciplinary team, develop protocols and guidelines, and contribute to patient information development.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge
* BSc/First degree in a health-related field or equivalent qualification and experience
* Intermediate Life Support Provider
* RN1/RN2 or RN12 Registered Nurse on the NMC register or Operating Department Practitioner on the HCPC register
Experience
* Experience supervising an area, including managing rotas, resources, and staff supervision
