4. Purpose: Support consultants by keeping candidates warm, ready, and responsive across the full recruitment journey
The role
You keep the candidate side moving. You speak to applicants fast, screen and qualify them, keep them informed, and remove friction so consultants fill vacancies quicker. You are the person who stops candidates drifting off into the wild because nobody called them back. Candidate engagement is consistent communication across the process, from first advert through to placement.
What you will do day to day
Candidate engagement and candidate care
5. Call new applicants quickly, build rapport, and confirm the basics, role preferences, availability, travel radius, and experience.
6. Keep candidates updated on next steps, timelines, and outcomes so they stay engaged and show up when booked.
7. Run regular check-ins with active candidates so you always know who is available and who is not.
Adverts and application handling
8. Write clear, attractive adverts for education roles using the company tone of voice.
9. Screen applications, review CVs, and book candidates in for calls and registrations.
CV support and candidate marketing
10. Support candidates to improve CVs, personal profiles, and role summaries so consultants have clean, school-ready profiles to send.
11. Capture key details fast, strengths, SEN experience, key stages, behaviour management comfort, then present it clearly.
Interview and trial preparation support
12. Brief candidates before school interviews and trial days, confirm arrival details, dress code, safeguarding expectations, and what the school wants.
13. Reduce no-shows by confirming attendance and managing last-minute issues early.
CRM and data accuracy
14. Maintain accurate candidate records on the CRM, notes, availability, preferences, compliance status, and contact history.
15. Use the CRM to manage communications and keep the pipeline organised.
Support to consultants
16. Share live availability lists and short candidate summaries so consultants can fill roles fast.
17. Chase missing information and keep candidate progress moving so consultants spend less time admin-wrangling and more time filling jobs.
What you need
18. Strong phone manner and confidence speaking to new people all day.
19. Organised approach, you will juggle multiple vacancies, call-backs, and candidate updates.
20. Good writing for adverts and CV profiles.
21. Ability to stay calm when priorities change every ten minutes, which they will, because recruitment.
